Most of the fragrances in vanilla perfumes are derived from the paper-making process. For really good vanilla perfume, split a few (3 or 4) vanilla beans, place them in a clean, dry bottle, fill the bottle with unflavored vodka and store in a cool, dark place for four weeks, shaking the bottle every other day or so. One the waiting period's over, pour the tincture into your container of choice, making sure to use a plain white paper towel as a filter. Enjoy.
